Years ago, I stumbled upon an Earth Day-inspired fashion show, and something clicked. The blend of elegance, faith in the beauty of God's creation, and environmental responsibility left me mesmerized. It was a powerful reminder that sustainability and my fast-paced, city-living lifestyle didn’t have to compete—they could coexist.
From a stack of Vogue magazines to science experiments as a kid, I’ve always loved exploring the intricate relationship between innovation, beauty, and the natural world. But it was Earth Day 2018 that truly sparked my passion for connecting sustainability to intentional living.
If this resonates with you, welcome to De La Dirt. Together, we’ll navigate what it means to live thoughtfully, faithfully, and sustainably in a fast-paced world.
behind the account
No green-wagon jumping here, my love for the environment runs deep!
From middle school science fairs to earning a B.S. in Environmental Science, sustainability has shaped who I am. Now, I’m a capstone away from a Master’s in Environmental Management, where I focus on bridging scientific precision with real-world application.
As an environmental chemist by day, I lead radiological testing on natural resources, ensuring the safety and stewardship of our planet. Beyond that, I’ve had the honor of teaching sustainable farming practices charity groups abroad and volunteering with my local mosque to clean roads and parks.
I’m also LEED-certified, which has fueled my passion for designing sustainable spaces and reimagining how urban living can align with environmental values.
Currently, I’m working on my first scientific publication, exploring the intersection of our environment and Islam—a project deeply rooted in my values. At home, my love for herbs has led me to create herbal remedies for my family, blending tradition with nature’s gifts.
Faith is my guide, science is my toolkit, and sustainability is my mission.
Outside of my lab coats and laptop, you’ll find me kicking back with my kiddos, eco-styling someone’s space, perfecting an herbal remedy, and indulging in The Real Housewives (of literally any city).
What I'm
loving
Asian flavors, inclusivity, convenience, new experiences, and friendships that stand the test of time. I’ll always choose rainy days, spellbinding documentaries, and classic gold jewelry.
What I'm
learning
New baking skills, practicing mindfulness through chaos, staying grounded through urban gardening, and taking bold steps that push me beyond my comfort zone.
What I'm
not about
Judgmental attitudes, wasteful habits, flaky commitments, or excess. Hard pass on complacency, constant complaints, and half-hearted attempts.
what I
believe
Sustainable, green living should be accessible to everyone, blending personal style with environmental responsibility. Ethical values and eco-standards? Two sides of the same coin.
