As a child, I was always observing and absorbing everything around me. I found myself captivated by the delicate balance between innovation, nature, and beauty. Whether I was flipping through Vogue magazines or running small experiments outside, I was always seeking to understand how things worked and why they were the way they were.
But it wasn’t until Earth Day 2018 that I truly saw how these interests could harmonize with my Islamic faith and values. That year, I attended an Earth Day event centered around sustainable fashion, and it provided me with a newfound clarity that ignited my passion for environmental science.
I realized that, as a Muslim woman, my faith calls me to cherish and protect God’s creation. I discovered that I could blend my admiration for beautiful, sustainable design, my desire to innovate and learn, and my faith in a way that felt authentic and aligned with both my values and my actions.
This was the beginning of my journey—one dedicated to living sustainably in my everyday life, guided by faith, and fueled by a deep respect for the environment. It’s a path that feels not only meaningful but incredibly natural to walk.
behind the account
No green-wagon jumping here, my love for the environment runs deep!
From my middle school science fairs to earning a B.S. in Environmental Science, sustainability has been a central theme in my life. After spending 7 years as an environmental chemist, leading radiological testing on natural resources to ensure the safety of our planet, I made the decision to leave the lab and dedicate more time to my family. I now homeschool my children—a choice I wish I had made sooner—and it’s been one of the most fulfilling decisions of my life.
I’m currently in project management, blending my scientific background with real-world applications and striving to build a more sustainable future—at home and beyond. Fueling my passion for creating sustainable spaces that align with environmental values is my LEED certification. I’ve also had the privilege of teaching sustainable farming practices abroad, sharing my knowledge with communities in need.
My passion for herbal remedies, especially those inspired by Quran and Sunnah, allows me to combine my love for nature with my faith, providing holistic solutions for my family. I am currently a capstone away from completing my Master’s in Environmental Management, where my focus is on bridging scientific precision with practical environmental strategies. I’m also working on my first scientific publication, exploring the intersection of environmental science and Islam—a project that is deeply rooted in my values.
Faith is my guide, science is my toolkit, and sustainability is my mission.
When I’m not juggling my 9-5, homeschooling, or degree coursework, you’ll find me doing red light therapy, attending a pre-sunrise tajweed class, enjoying a spontaneous road trip with my family, or indulging in the latest Housewives drama.
